Initial Situation

The customer that sold computers, computer components, software and information technology services wanted to add consulting and implementation services to its portfolio but lacked proper use of tools to manage those services.

Solution

Engaged to implement and maintain a change and communication strategy to drive use of Oracle Project Accounting (OPA)

  • Analyzed, developed and drove the country change acceptance plan with the EMEA change manager, country change managers and Business Solution Group engagement managers
  • Drove change acceptance plans focusing on business process re-engineering in order to deliver customer projects successfully with improved profitability and efficient operations
  • Understood the local Professional Services business processes and the related roles, the end state and business readiness
  • Mapped processes and roles to achieve end state by using a change acceptance plan and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Evaluated ‘as is’ service management processes across six countries. Customized strategies for each country to use OPA. Ensured clear roles, duties and processes for services management and trained users on OPA
  • Documented the changed core business processes, organizational impacts, roles and responsibilities

Results

  • Succeeded in increasing accounting accuracy by 63%, improving project close rate by 83% and cutting project maintenance costs by $1.2m p.a.
  • Correct utilization of the project accounting software for professional services
